Abu Haider Nasrallah, the uncle of dead Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, has been killed in an Israeli strike in Al-Bazouriy, southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese reports.



This development comes amidst escalating tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, following Hassan Nasrallah&#8217;s assassination in an Israeli airstrike on September 27, 2024. The strike targeted Hezbollah&#8217;s underground headquarters in Beirut, killing Nasrallah and several senior commanders.



Hezbollah has been exchanging cross-border attacks with Israel since October 7, 2023, when Hamas launched the evil attacks on Israel, prompting Hezbollah to fire rockets.



In recent weeks, Israel has intensified its airstrikes on Lebanon, killing over 700 terrorists, injuring more than 5,000.

A swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected Chief Rabbis of Israel was held earlier today at the Presidential Residence in Jerusalem, after an extended period without Chief Rabbis in Israel.



During the ceremony, Rabbi David Yosef, the Sephardic Chief Rabbi and President of the Supreme Rabbinical Court, and Rabbi Kalman Bar, the Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi and President of the Chief Rabbinate Council, took their oaths of office. The two Rabbis will serve for the next ten years..



The event featured prayers for the peace of the state, the safety of IDF soldiers, and the singing of &#8216;Acheinu Kol Bait Yisroel&#8217; for the return of hostages and the healing of the injured.



Among the attendees were Minister of Religious Services Rabbi Michael Malchiali, various ministers and Knesset members, members of the Chief Rabbinate Council, judges from the Supreme Rabbinical Court, the CEO of the Chief Rabbinate, the CEO of the Ministry of Religious Services, the CEO of the Rabbinical Courts, city rabbis, heads of yeshivas, and other dignitaries.



Rabbi David Yosef said in his speech: &#8220;I will follow in the path of my father, Maran Chacham Ovadia Yosef Zatzal, which today marks 11 years since his Petirah. I will uphold his pure legacy, which is rooted in the leadership of Chief Rabbi Herzog, the grandfather of the President. We will work for a welcoming and inclusive rabbinate that embraces all communities and guides the people in the spirit of Halacha. Together with my friend, Chief Rabbi Kalman Bar, we will strive for unity among all segments of the nation. Americans are preparing to stream to the polls for the 60th time this Tuesday, though for the second time the pervasive number of early voters and absentee ballots means that approximately 75 million votes have already been cast. This is a quarter of the total number of votes expected. Donald Trump, a former Republican president, and Kamala Harris, the Democratic vice president, are vying for the White House. 



The following is a Q&amp;A about the election:



When will we know who won?



This is a difficult question to answer. Traditionally, people voted by day and found out the results later that evening. Each one of the 50 states plus Washington DC counts their votes and delivers the winner’s name to Washington. Of the 538 electors, the candidate with 270 is declared the president-elect. The possibility exists for a 269-269 tie — in which case the House of Representatives votes for president and the Senate for the vice president — but that has never happened before. All states except for Maine and Nebraska are winner take all. 



With polls predicting a tight election, however, a winner might not be announced on election night. If enough states that decide the election are so close that absentee or early ballots make the difference, the winner might not be known until days or even weeks later. In addition, most states allow for a manual recount if the vote is within a percentage point or 1.5 percent. 



Republicans generally vote on election day while Democrats tend to take advantage of early voting. Since states first count the votes that come in on election day, this may lead to what is known as the “Red Mirage,” in which the Republican appears to be winning, and then the “Blue Shift,” when more Democratic votes come in.



I read that Trump and Harris both spent hundreds of millions of dollars on advertising but I didn’t notice any ads. Why is that?



Here’s where the swing states come in. Most states are known in advance to whom they will award their votes — New York, New Jersey and California, for example, haven’t voted Republican since 1988 while Texas is a ruby red state. Therefore, candidates spend their money where it can make a difference. 



There are seven swing states, plus several more in which polls indicate both candidates have a chance. For example, Harris can rely on 226 electoral votes while Trump can assume he has 219 in his corner. This means that Harris must win 44 votes and Trump needs 51. 



The biggest of these prizes is Pennsylvania, which has 19 votes, followed by Georgia and North Carolina with 16 each. Michigan, with its 15 votes, was a safe Democratic state but Arab American anger at President Joe Biden’s support for Israel has made it into play for Trump. 



Arizona has 11 votes, Wisconsin has 10 and Nevada has six.



Who is favored to gain control of the Senate?



There are currently 51 Democrats and independents who caucus with them in the Senate and 49 Republicans. John Manchin, a Democrat from West Virgina, is not running for reelection and the Republican nominee, current Gov. Jim Justice, is expected to win. With all of the Republicans in safe seats or leaning in their column, this would nearly guarantee them 50 seats. If Trump wins and the vice president casting a vote in case of a tie, this would give them majority control. 



However, four Democrats are in the toss-up column, meaning that either side could win. Republicans need to win just one of them to gain a majority regardless of whom wins the White House. The four Senate races classified as toss ups are the following: &#8211; In Ohio, Sen. Sherrod Brown, the Democratic incumbent, is trailing Republican Bernie Moreno in a state Trump carried twice. &#8211; In Montana, Sen. Jon Tester, the Democratic incumbent, is trailing Republican Tom Sheehy, in a red state. &#8211; In Arizona, Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, an independent who caucuses with Democrats, isn’t seeking reelection. Republican Kari Lake is facing off against Democrat Ruben Gallego, who has consistently polled several points ahead. &#8211; In Nevada, Sen. Jacky Rosen, the Democratic incumbent, is polling even with Republican Sam Brown.



Who will control the House?



That’s a much more tricky question to answer since there are 435 individual races. But most of them are safe seats and ratings websites generally put no more than two dozen into play. 



Of these, 191 Republicans and 175 Democrats are in safe seats. Ten Democratic districts and twelve Republican ones are in toss-up status. 



By the way, these include four of the five New York Republicans who unexpectedly won two years ago. While Mike Lawler is in the “lean Republican” column, the others, such as Marc Molinaro, Brandon Williams and Anthony D&#8217;Esposito are lean Democrat. This would give Democrats the upper hand in controlling the House. However, House races are notoriously decided by how the presidential race goes. Whichever party wins the White House usually ends up taking the House as well.

Israeli commandos conducted a daring intelligence-based raid in southern Syria in recent months and detained an Iranian terror network operative in Syria named Ali Soleiman al-Assi.

After the Belaaz report, Lawler&#8217;s team has been negotiating with the group to resolve the issue. A final decision is expected soon.

Several Rockland County Kehilos Consider Whether To whether withdraw the Endorsement of Republican Rep. Mike Lawler: A meeting is currently underway between several Rockland County Kehilos &#8211; four large ones, including Skver, and a few smaller ones &#8211; to discuss withdrawing their endorsement of Republican NY-17 Rep. Mike Lawler. Though the possibility of that to actually happen is low.



This meeting comes after Mike Lawler&#8217;s team, distributed inflammatory leaflets to Jewish homes in Monsey over Shabbos, targeting Ahron Weider, who is running for the New York State Assembly to represent District 97. The leaflets falsely claimed Weider would promote anti-Jewish legislation.

We do new things on a day to day basis, some of them easier than others. At first, we can be intimidated by challenges that arise and hesitate from attempting it. When things don&#8217;t turn out the way we hope, we can be really hard on ourselves.



People can get intimidated by the word challenges. People can think of challenges as something you want to avoid and it being a bad thing. Although challenges may be difficult, if we didn&#8217;t have them, we may not push ourselves as hard as we do to achieve the goals we set out for ourselves.



When adjusting the word challenges to opportunities it changes the whole narrative of what&#8217;s in front of you. Opportunities are chances for growth and that makes it a lot easier to embrace and make an attempt.



Another important aspect to remember is that we will not succeed on the first attempt every time. THAT&#8217;S OKAY. Think of it as a baby who is attempting to walk for the first time. When they get up and take a step, they fall and we say, &#8220;Good job&#8221; and Try again.&#8221; We focus on the progress no matter how small it is and encourage the baby to try again. Yelling at the baby or putting them down will not assist in the mastering learning to walk.



The same applies with us. It&#8217;s important to remember that we are all babies in certain areas. Every first attempt is as if we are that baby trying to walk. Just as we give that baby encouragement and focus on the small aspects of success, we need to give ourselves that same positive and motivation.



It says V&#8217;ahavta L&#8217;reacha Kamocha which means you should love your fellow As You Love yourself. Another aspect is to remember to love yourself as you do others. Give yourself that same understanding and patience that you give to others around you to give yourself the ability to grow and succeed.

Another way to look at things is by thinking that our kids can be the beginning of changing a lot of aspects of this world to make it a better place. We want to lead by example and do the things we can control to make a difference like going out and voting.



When it comes to who to vote for, you can have your own opinions. If you are questioning the right decision, it is always be beneficial to follow Daas Torah! Listen to what they&#8217;re saying regarding voting and know that you are following the guidance of those whos opinions you trust and value.



It&#8217;s easy to get caught up on what will be after the elections, or what if the other person wins instead of who you voted for. Remember that at the end of the day it&#8217;s all in Hashems hands! Whatever is meant to be, will happen and everything that happens is for the best. So let&#8217;s jump right into discuss a hot topic that many times is not very clear to business owners and leaders who stand so much to gain from being clear on this foundational concept.



Let&#8217;s explore the benefits of bitachon for how it relates to business leaders who are looking to grow their business and become the best possible business leaders they can be.

Sol says, if you want to build a bitachon culture in your business it starts with YOU.



As a coach who works with CEO&#8217;s, business owners, and leaders in a 1-1 capacity, I find that clients who implement consistent bitachon building systems are on a higher frequency than everyone else. They think differently and they act differently.



Let me highlight some areas where they stand out from business leaders that don&#8217;t.



1. Calm and collective: They think more positively and are generally calm even during a setback, crunchtime, or a crisis. They don&#8217;t worry and are very focused on what they can do today, and in the present moment.



2. Open mindedness: They generally appreciate their challenges, acknowledge their shortcomings, and are more open minded to work on them. They embrace them, and find the opportunities in them. This specifically helps me as their coach accomplish a lot more with them in shorter periods of time.



3. Communication: They generally have meaningful relationships with their partners and pairs. They accept criticism and don&#8217;t shy away from giving kind constructive criticism immediately when necessary. They are genuine, sincere, and don&#8217;t feel a need to flatter those around them and don&#8217;t worry much or try to control outcomes.



Here are just 3 examples of qualities I picked up that I find very common by leaders who study bitachon consistently.



Many of them have told me that it is extremely helpful to them, to run their business and keep their teams fulfilled and energized.



At RLS, one of our values is that we strive to use principles and wisdom of the Torah as our guide. The Vilna Gaon says in Mishlei 22:19 &#8220;עיקר נתינת התורה לישראל הוא כדי שישמשו בטחונם בה&#8217; &#8220;The main reason the Torah was given, is that we should put our bitachon in Hashem&#8221;.



The challenge is that although many of us already understand the bitachon concepts and fundamentals, if we don&#8217;t connect the knowledge to our heart, and constantly remind ourselves about them, nothing changes.



It is a grave mistake to think that if we understand bitachon, then we can expect to see the benefits of it. As we say three times a day, וידעת היום והשבת אל לבבך. We must Internalize the knowledge into our hearts in order to feel the benefits or we simply won&#8217;t feel them. The way to do that is by setting a consistent study routine. Once a routine is set into place, the bitachon culture in your business is officially building.

Sources tell Belaaz that Kamala Harris’ husband, Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff, was spotted attending Adas Israel Congregation, a progressive Conservative synagogue in Washington D.C., on Yom Kippur.

The IDF confirms that a precision airstrike on Hezbollah&#8217;s underground headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon, successfully eliminated the terror leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, along with other terror leaders.

Rabbi Berel Lazar, Chief Rabbi of Russia, visited the Satmar Rebbe, Rav Zalman Leib Teitelbaum, in Williamsburg this afternoon.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is set to travel to the United States Wednesday night to attend the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

There seems to be this new phenomenon in the therapy world that everyone is talking about called Internal Family Systems, which is more popularly known as IFS. People are saying that it’s this new modality of therapy that makes all the difference. What is IFS, and why is it such a hot form of therapy that people are turning to?



When it comes to therapy modalities, there are so many different letters. There is CBT, DBT, CPT, EFT, ACT, EMDR, IFS, as well as many other letters. Looking at all the different letters can be confusing and make people feel more lost as to what option for help to turn to. What makes IFS unique and more popular than the other modalities?



For starters, different modalities can be more suited for different struggles and issues that people are coming into therapy with. For example, when it comes to trauma, one of the most popular modalities used is EMDR, which stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. When therapists work with couples, the go-to modalities are usually EFT and The Gottman Method. Though these are the go-to therapy methods of treatment, therapists often sprinkle in other modalities as well to complement the main one they are using.



Then there is IFS. IFS is used to treat a large range of issues, from general life stressors like relationship, grief, and career issues, to self-esteem and anxiety. IFS has been found to help process trauma as well as many other issues that bring people into therapy. Let’s get down to understanding what Internal Family Systems means and how it can be helpful.



At first glance, Internal Family Systems sounds like it is referring to the relationship between members of a family. The reality is that the family IFS is referring to is the different parts inside each individual person. People have many different parts, which can range from joy to anxiety and many other parts in between.



A person is born with a blank slate, and as time goes by, they go through different life experiences. As they go through these experiences, different parts are born. Something that’s important to remember is that all parts are good. Yes, that’s right—anxiety, fear, doubt, and other parts that can come across as negative are actually good parts.

These parts are also known as protectors. They are there to protect the self from getting hurt by people and the environment around them. You might wonder how anxiety, which seems so disruptive, is actually good for a person. The reality is that anxiety can be helpful for people as long as it’s managed.



Let’s understand anxiety. Anxiety is being uncomfortable with uncertainty. There are plenty of things we go through in life that are uncertain and do not trigger anxiety; it’s when we are uncomfortable with an uncertainty that the anxiety begins to creep in. You may notice anxiety in the form of increased heart rate, rapid breathing, sweating, trembling, cold hands, dizziness, nausea, lightheadedness, or the butterfly feeling in your stomach.



Anxiety is your body’s way of telling you that you are about to go through an experience that you are not used to. A great way to reframe the thought process regarding anxiety is to look at all those physical symptoms that you may be experiencing as your body’s way of preparing you to overcome or succeed in the new task that lies ahead.



Typically, what a person may do, especially when not understanding that all parts are good, is try to push away the feelings they are experiencing. What happens then internally is that the anxiety part feels that you aren’t noticing what is best for you and it fights harder. Externally, you then begin to go through an anxious loop, creating even more anxiety.



When a part feels the need to take over, it can do one of two things. It can become a manager, or it can become a firefighter. A manager is a part that looks a lot like avoidance. It may say something like, “If I don’t ask for a raise, I can’t get rejected.” Although it is trying to help you, in actuality, it may be preventing you from pushing yourself to grow. With a firefighter, there is only one goal: to put out the fire.



If you’ve ever walked through the scene after a fire, everything is destroyed. The ceilings and walls are ripped out, the windows are shattered, and the carpets are waterlogged. Everything in the moment is destroyed with one goal: get the fire out and deal with the aftereffects later. The firefighter part may say something like, “If you drink a lot of alcohol, you won’t have this feeling of anxiety that you are experiencing right now,” without thinking about the effects on your liver or the fact that you have a very important meeting the next day, which you will probably bomb because you won’t be in your right state of mind.



The goal of IFS therapy is to learn to coexist with the parts without them feeling the need to take over completely to protect you. We want to befriend the parts that we may have been pushing away in the past and create a relationship where the feelings can be there to benefit you. When we learn to understand each part and its role in our system, we can actually appreciate the part and understand how it is playing a role in protecting you.

The sources revealed to Belaaz that Burgum&#8217;s team is fully gearing up for a VP bid, focusing on debate prep and strategy.

Government Sources Reveal To Belaaz that over the last few days, US Ambassador to Israel Jack Lew has held a series of meetings with senior Israeli government officials, including MK Yuli Edelstein, UTJ Housing Minister Yitzchok Goldknopf, MK Moshe Gafni, and Arab MK Ahmad Tibi, signaling intense US interest in Israel&#8217;s political landscape.



During one of the meetings, US Ambassador Lew asked pointedly: &#8220;Do you think they are headed to election? What do you think the solution will be?&#8221;



Sources also revealed to Belaaz that in several meetings, Lew sought information about the IDF draft law, a contentious issue that may lead to elections. This indicates a deep US interest in Israel&#8217;s political stability, as the US closely monitors the situation.

After his trip to Washington over the weekend where he met with Donald Trump and other politicians, Israeli right wing Knesset Member Simcha Rothman, a member of the Religious Zionist Party, is currently in Lakewood, NJ, where he held several meetings.
